Document Summary
Evaluating deductive argument otherwise it is unsound logical support for the conclusion, otherwise it is invalid. A deductive argument is valid if the premises successfully provide decisive. A deductive argument is sound if it is valid and all the premises are true; All things considered good if it"s both valid and sound. If we know that a conclusion of an argument is false, then one of the premises is. Validity is entirely determined by the logical structure of argument. We don"t need to look at content, just structure false. Example of valid and sound argument: no mammal are lizards, some rabbits are mammals, so some rabbits are not lizards. Example #2: if some rabbits are cute then some are lagomorphs are cute, no lagomorphs are cute or some chordates are cute, therefore, if rabbits are cute then some chordates are cute. Validity is the logical structure of the argument. We can evaluate validity only using structure.
