Even with all of the planning that is done during the curriculum development, there still needs to be an assessment of the curriculum. If the curriculum is assesses properly, it will help to reduce deficiencies that might have been missed. Finding them during the assessment phase will help to eliminate major problem later, and it will help to ensure a high quality product. Curriculum assessment is the gathering of information to determine the merit of a curriculum, and is used to determine the value or worth of a curriculum. The purpose of the curriculum assessment plan is to determine curriculum quality,document procedures that were followed, and document results of the data analysis. Curriculum assessment consist s of the following four elements: context assessment is basic to the curriculum development, since it is used to determine if a curriculum should be offered including the goals and objectives to be used.
