To discount this would be specisist and therefore immoral. Article topic: using animals for experimental purposes: singer says that using an animal for an experiment is only justifiable if we were to use a human of the same mental capabilities and be able to justify that. Equal consideration may lead to different treatment and different rights. Why racism and sexism are wrong: humans differ as individuals but there are no such differences between the races and sexes as such. A white person may say they are superior to a black person; however, the black person may be intellectually more skilled than the white person.
