Prosocial behavior: any action intended to benefit another. Improving our basic welfare ( material benefits): helping relatives or reciprocal partners: gaining social status and approval, managing self image, managing our emotions and moods. Inclusive fitness: care about successfully getting genes to the next generation. Not only in our own offspring, but also other families genes passing onto the next generation. In the study: researchers wanted to know which of the twin sets had more similar helping behavior patterns. At 14 months, identical twins are more similar in helping patterns. When they were given a task and participants were told the task would benefit their twin they worked harder. Reciprocal aid: helping someone who may help us back. In this case we are referring to non-relatives.
