Document Summary

Water vapour is added to the atmosphere. Once vapour is in the atmosphere, condensation can occur. Water lost from the system is replenished by outgassing. Outgassing the release of gases from the earth as a result of natural disaster. There is more land mass at the northern hemisphere. And so land and water hemispheres may be seen. Water exists in 3 states on earth. Average residence time in the troposphere about 10 days. Can dissolve more substances than any other solvent. Water is rarely pure because it is such a good solvent. Ice is less dense than liquid water. The amount of heat per unit of mass it takes to raise the temp of an object by 1 degree. Ice is a good conductor of heat. Water aggregates in droplets rather than spread out over a surface as a thin. Plants can move water (and dissolved nutrients) from their roots to their film leaves (capillary action)
