Tend to protect the land from hurricanes and heavy waves. Break the waves and reduce the energy. A flooded valley or gorge created by a glacier. As the ice melted away, the land rose up. Vegetated shoreline that provides protection to the landscape. Used by a wide variety of species. Can absorb the salt water and release through the leaves. Create an area of deposition and erosion.
