The way people fit in, sense of belonging, people connected, shared traditions and values, how you look at the world, shared beliefs. Clash: conflicting ideas, failure to understand and inability to adapt. Filter: as information comes in and you, you filter it based off of who you are. Low-context culture not as much motion, direct words matter. Self-reference criteria- your filter, how you look at things. Culture comes from people, environment, location, upbringing, government, level of development, Individualism and collectivism are opposites of each other.
