Culture = common beliefs very important to understand. The idea of global cultures and local cultures. Geocentric: what"s happening in that country what they do. We can define culture by people"s way of living, what they eat, wear, their music, the way they speak, customs. The way people fit in, sense of belonging, people connected, shared traditions and values, how you look at the world, shared beliefs. Clash: conflicting ideas, failure to understand and inability to adapt. Filter: as information comes in and you, you filter it based off of who you are. Low-context culture not as much motion, direct words matter. Self-reference criteria- your filter, how you look at things. Culture comes from people, environment, location, upbringing, government, level of development, Individualism and collectivism are opposites of each other.
