The social change model (scm) enhances student learning and development. Specifically it facilitates greater learning of self-knowledge and leadership. This model can be used to cause social change within the community. Through this model, individuals will be impacting the community effectively and humanely. There are three central tenets: the individual, group and community / society. Group aspect focuses on emphasis of collaboration and interaction between members and the individual. Individual focuses on the development of self, such as self-awareness and the things the individual values. Society emphasizes bringing change about for a common good of all. The seven c"s of the model include: consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility and citizenship. Each one of these relates to leadership differently.
