Chapter 13: vocal music in the classical era. It is common to divide beethoven"s creative life into several style periods. Such divisions are rather arbitrary and different sources will have slightly different dates for these periods. The first style period is from 1782 until 1802, a period of imitation and consolidation of his training and influences.
