Groupthink is a type of thinking exhibited by group members who try to minimize conflict and reach consensus without critically testing, analyzing, and evaluating ideas. Why group members fail to share unique information. Sample definition: small groups which members (5-7, seldom 15-20) Share goals, values, and common approaches to the realization of activities. Take responsibility for the final results of activities. Are able to play any team roles. Define themselves and their partners as belonging to the teams (tannenbaum, beard, salas) Team members define objectives by themselves on the basis of diagnostics of the environment and requests that are received from outside. Mixed goal-setting: from outside and from inside. Need for team existence is defined by the organization. It is enough to agree on goals and methods. From a group to a team - a process. Working groups -> pseudo team -> potential team -> real team. A team is a group of high level of development.
