Document Summary

Brings a mother and infant into the room. After 5 minutes a stranger comes into the room. Child goes out and plays with mom"s approval. Goes back to mother after stranger comes in. Once mother seems comfortable, child go out and plays again. Become more upset and distressed when mom leave. Might actually run and kick and scream at mom for leaving. If you have an infant that has this biological need for food, child will become attached to the parent through the feeding process. Ex: baby monkeys fed by wire mesh monkey. There is a soft terry cloth monkey next to it. Monkey stays on the cloth monkey for most of the time; but still went back to the wire monkey for food. Despite the fact that the wire mother nursed him, the monkey still runs to the cloth mother for security. Occurs during 8-12 months of age; around a year old.
