Gastric secretions in stomach help digest and break down food. Enzymes in small intestine break down proteins amino acids. Stomach acids coming up esophagus into the mouth. In developing countries, people die from this (mostly small children) Extreme version of diarrhea - loose blood and puss. Juices in stomach stop breaking down food & instead break down walls of stomach. Used to think this was cause by stress, now know stress just makes the issue worse - caused by bacteria. Appendix can rupture if you don"t have it removed. A & b are more mild - body can typically fight this. Produce urine which maintains water balance, blood ph, and electrolyte balance. Ureters - move urine to the bladder. Urethra - urine exits the bladder through this out of the body. Bacteria in urethra - goes into the bladder. Kidney failure - could require an artificial kidney, a kidney transplant, or kidney dialysis.
