Landslides are natural forming from erosion, increase in water rainfall, and water when into ground and caused mountain to slide into civilization. Geology of area: colluvium over low permeability bedrock. Vegetation: plant roots provide stability anchor the earth. Slope (topography): steeper the slope, the greater the driving force. Water content: must have water to have earth movement. Less grain to grain contact and less cohesion attraction between grains. Lubricating action of water less friction greater mobility. Rock fall: free or nearly free fall of earth material.
