Certain goods require a certain amount of evil. Allowing the lower order evil is required for the higher order good. There"s no lesser evil that would allow an equally good world. If god exists, he is omniscient, omnipotent, and good. If anything is like that, then there is no pointless suffering. Suffering is not pointless, however, we are unable to understand the meaning of the suffering since we can not understand. However, the third premise must be justi ed, which unfortunately, the arguments supporting this premise are often defective. Religious beliefs are based on faith and not on arguments or reasons. Fideists would not be able to defend theism in this way since they can not justify premise three. Evidentialist theists such as craig would believe the evidence does support premise three. The relevant evidence is evidence of which you are aware. Implausible view in general with respect to religious belief.
