(cid:863) Train officers not just in what they can do, but how to make good decisions: decision making is an acquired skill, base decisions on fact, not emotion. Training does not stop after the academy: training is a constant, training should never be cut for budget reasons, ensure officers know they can kill with a taser. Tasers have been misrepresented as less-than-lethal weapons. Some officers never learn to multitask, make good decisions, or communicate effectively. When needed, a little community trust goes a long way: departments must have an underlying relationship with the community, there must be a level of trust and understanding between civilians and police.
