Document Summary
Steiner"s taxonomy of tasks: steiner believed that each task had a different type of demand, task demands. Seen as maximizing type tasks: quality. Additive tasks: the more people who work on it, the more youre gonna get done. Compensatory tasks: look at averages/ how people generally feel about something. Disjunctive tasks: tasks that require one answer, as good as their best answer if the group members believe the answer, answer known vs answer unknown. All it takes is one person to know what the answer is. And if the answer is known, it is easier for other group members to agree. Not always clear exactly what the answer is. So if you have the answer, the group members might not recognize that that is the right answer. Conjunctive task: a task that cannot be completed until all members complete the task. Ex: relay race: only as good as your weakest link, kohler effect.
