Society: a group of people who share a culture and territory. Social marginality: being excluded from mainstream society due to difference from the majority i. e. : making assumptions. Globalization: breaking down at national borders because of advances in communications, trade, and travel resulting in the dispersal of products and ideas around the world. Social forces: exist outside the individual in the form of social relationships [outside pressure put upon us] i. e. : friends, relatives, and individuals in educational religious and economic institutions. Social integration: the degree to which people are tied to a social group through fixed shared values and other social bonds i. e. : within churches, reasons for furthering education. Sociological imagination: the ability to see the impact of social forces on individuals especially on their private lives.
