What and how we eat plays an important role in our long term health. Cholesterol is a lipid fat which is present in out own bodily cells. Synthesised to produce steroid hormones and is involved in the production of bile neccesarry for digestion. Low density lipoptoteins (ldl), when in the blood stream, can lead to the formation of plaques in the artries and as a result cholesterol carried by ldl is often called bad cholesterol. High density lipoproteins (hdl) is called good cholesterol, as it appears the processing and removal of ldl by the liver. Implications of to much salt can be a high blood pressure aka hypertension.
