Social exchange theory: a theory based on a premise that the exchange of social and material resources is a fundamental form of human interaction. Organisation support theory: a theory that explains how the support of organisations affects the behaviours of employees. Perceived orgnisational support (pos): a global perception of the extent to which the organisation cares about the well-being of the employee and demonstrates appreciation towards the employee. Supervisors are regarded as representatives of the organisation. If employees perceive the supervisor/organisation as supportive, they feel an obligation to return this support. Perceived supervisory support (pss): about the same as pos, but then directly through the supervisor. In this article, three different communication styles are defined. Aggressive style: managers express their feelings and opinions and advocate for their needs in a way that violates the rights of employees.
