Cat (= amabile"s consensual assessment technique): requires selecting appropriate judges which have some experience, they are asked to evaluate independently production relative to one another, without given criteria, moreover they should use their own subjective understanding. For rating advertisements originally and logic or originality and value are important. Research question: mechanisms by which judges integrate information concerning originality and appropriateness: subjects were asked to rate advertisements purposely selected, hypotheses: creativity ratings will increase as originality level of productions increase. Individual differences in judgements related to the creative ability of the judges. Studies show that different levels of creativity ability within the judges leads to different results, e. g. the higher the ability the more strict the ratters are. Expert judges might develop their own subjective understanding of creativity based on their experiences within the domain pf production. Study method: clear instruction to focus on relevant dimensions on which to base creativity judgement compared to judgements with no conceptual framework.
