Roll middle mouse button to zoom in and out, press down middle mouse button to rotate or spin a model. The design tree is on the left side of screen and gives pertinent information about your model. Anytime you create a sketch or create a feature, then the information will be documented in the design tree. Anytime sw shows a pencil icon, then you are in sketch mode (think 2d). There should be a pencil icon in the upper right corner of the drawing screen when you are sketching. When you switch to the feature mode, then the pencil icon will disappear, indicating you are working in 3d not 2d. Press space bar to pop-up the orientation menu. This menu allows you to view the primary views of the object as well as an isometric. When an sketched object is black, then it is fully defined, meaning it is completely dimensioned.
