Beginning point/ending point- cytokinesis: when one cell dies and 2 other begins. Next stage after cytokinesis- g1 (g=gap: doing all its regular cell things. Then s (synthesis: dna being synthesize, s actually stands for dna replication, cell actually starts replication. Then g2 (second gap phase) back to doing just cell things. Last stage- cell division- mitotic phase (m: mitosis/meiosis, after interphase. Amount of time a cell spends in each stage depends. Eukaryotes chromosome composed of dna and histone proteins that dna is wrapped on. During cell division, dna is supercoiled/condensed in a tight structure (usual) Chromosomes can be un-replicated of one molecule of dna. Chromosomes can be replicated of two identical molecules of dna and held together: held together called centromere region, 2 sister chromatids. Chromosome always starts un-replicated g1 (at beg. S phase- begins to replicate, then through g2, stays replicated. At e(cid:374)d of (cid:272)ell di(cid:448)isio(cid:374) (cid:894)(cid:449)hether it"s (cid:373)itosis or (cid:373)eiosis(cid:895), daughter (cid:272)ells are u(cid:374)-replicated again.
