Document Summary

It"s really cold! : climate- typically cool/cold in the winter and hot and humid in the summer in baton rouge. An average of how it usually is: 5 global climate controls, 1. Solar energy and isolation - incoming solar energy and warmth from the sun: figure 2. 10 in textbook, the sun emits high energy radiation that comes into the earth (ultra violet). A lot of it is reflected away by earth atmosphere by clouds and the ozone layer. But some of it does and when that energy from the sun hits the earth itself it changes into infrared waves (warmth). The infrared waves are trapped by the clouds so the warmth stays in. the earth is heated directly by the sun, but the atmosphere is not. It"s heated by radiation from the earth, which is critical for our survival on this planet.
