MC 2015 Lecture : Mass Communications 2015 Beginning Notes
Document Summary
Contrast: cameras don"t shoot well when there is high contrast between the darkest and brightest parts of the screen. There should be no windows, white boards or bright stuff in the background when you"re inside. If you shoot outside, your foreground and background should also match (i. e. if you shoot someone in the shade, the background should also be shady). *****when you"re inside, keep bright stuff out of the background. No tvs, computers, no white wall, whiteboard, projectors, or windows. *****when you"re outside, match the foreground and the background. Light source: every room has bright spots and dark spots. Be sure to get the room"s light in the subject"s face. Need light in the persons face at the right angle. Make sure light isn"t on them; make sure light is in their face so there are no shadows. Camera height: shooting up at or down on someone adds connotation and can be unflattering.
