Expressive needs primary group fulfils this, emotionally satisfied. Secondary groups-we know them but are not that close to, casual friends, school mates, much larger than primary. Instrumental needs goals like college credits or free food. Preference groups groups we use as a standard of evaluation, we compare ourselves to that group, may or not belong to it.
