Conflict: an essential aspect of dramatic construction, protagonist- has will to do something, antagonist- thwarts that will, aristotle drama= eents in action, driven by conflict, carried by characters, different from novel. Crisis/ turning point- luke i am your father; story about cat being killed and she would"ve done anything to prevent it. Resolution- luke forgives his father; women decide not to tell. Reading a play effectively: read a play more than once, read for context first, then read for plot, theme, and visualization, think of the play as a self contained world (a planet all its own)
