When first looking for a fairytale to adapt, i pulled up a list of famous fairytales, and as a group, we chose which fairytales would be easiest to adapt. Included in this list were, snow white and the seven dwarves, When discussing how each one of these fairytales could be changed, the group suggested that aladdin could be changed best, and instead of having aladdin and jasmine; we could have. Because i had never seen aladdin, i decided to research it a little more. When reading, i realized the disney version of the fairytale portrayed aladdin as an arabian male. Because of this, we thought it would be a good idea for daniella ochoa, the stage manager, to play allie, because she is the closest race to arabian. After choosing to adapt aladdin, javisa eppes, the playwright, began writing the script for the play.
