Globalizaion- the increasing interconnectedness of diferent places and regions through common processes of economic, environmental, poliical and cultural change: causes difusion around the world in cultural forms, pracices and beliefs that previously were conined to speciic places/regions. Rise in sea levels that will cause a greater frequency and severity of extreme weather events: sustainability- interdependence of the economy, the environment and social well being. Health issues- increased trade and travel has increased the risk and speed of the spread of disease: pandemic- epidemic that spreads rapidly around the world with high rates of illness and death. In tradiional socieies, hazards are caused by nature like disease, lood famine, etc. The goal is to ensure the coninuity and advancement of economic, business, and human quality. Opimists- stress the potenial for technological innovaions to discover new resources. Pessimists- stress the fragility of its environment and populaion growth rates.
