Life is extensively affected by culture, which determines out values, beliefs, and rules. Earliest culture is from parents and people around you. Culture shapes nature: different cultures mold human nature in different directions; perceptions and categories mediate biology and nature; culture is integrated and not a random collection of customs and beliefs. International- traditions extending beyond national boundaries, spread by migration, colonization, and expansion. National- experiences, beliefs, customs, and values shared by people in same nation. Subculture- personal beliefs and things that make us different. Different lifestyles, traditions, and perspectives that can be found in any society. The cultural landscape that surrounds us is both fluid and complex. Among 7000 languages spoken in world, one becomes extinct each 2 weeks. Work/life policies, including paid and unpaid time off, flextime, and telecommuting.
