Format-the big 4 - used over and over. 99% of your script will contain these 4 elements: sluglines, action, character names and dialogue : sluglines-scene headings ! Appear at beginning of new scene ! Tells the setting like int or ext (this tells production crew where they"re going to be shooting shooting [i. e. staged or outside]) ! Tells actual location where scene takes place like library: occasionally need to introduce a sub-location like int. Tells a set time : this is always in all caps , 2 spaces between int. and ext. and space hyphen space between location and time, time can be as speci c as 4:59 am! Action : whats happening on screen and what characters are involved (if any) , you"ll use a lot of action in your scripts , single space/standard punctuation not much dialogue here!
