The assessment of stuttering should equally include both: Qualitative (background hx, observing secondary behavior, interviewing family interaction, etc. ) Video recording is preferable for assessment because its easier to identify blocks and secondary behaviors. We now know that preschool children who present with advanced language skills and articulation disorders are more at risk to persist. Phonological disorders are also more likely to co-occur.
