Suitors plan to ambush telemachus and kill him. Book 5: calypso(immortal nymph) releases odysseus, but he is nearly killed by poseidon, was her sex slave for years, wants to make him immortal. Books 6-7-: odysseus lands on scherie, the island of the phaeacians. Saved by nausicaa, daughter of king, and taken to palace. Books 8-12: odysseus finally says who he is, and relate the tales of his adventures at troy. Books 13-21- odysseus arrives in ithica, but disguises himself as a beggar, undergoing various forms of abuse at the hands of the suitors of others.
