Didn"t want to be detached expert who figured out the client. Act in ways that are consistent with feelings during a session. Assumption: people actively organize perceptions of the world. Goal: create conditions for clients to grow. Allow the client to perceive and act on his or her true feelings. Constantly revising treatment to suit the client, tracking progress. Ask client to visualize feared object, then return to relaxation.
