Music allows people to express ideas and emotions, as well as organizing ideals to spread amongst a population. 3 warring parties in civil war in nepal. The educated elites were hindu and had maintained power for centuries. A majority of nepalese people, mostly rural/poor, were buddhist. This caused tension between the rich and the poor. Heavy metal music was mainly favored by urban middle class youth. Propaganda was used to influence people to side with one of the 3 warring parties. Hegemony - idea of one dominant group imposing ideologies on less powerful groups. Each of the 3 warring parties used propaganda to influence their impressions/vote. Performed at specific places (outside of a temple, etc) Performed at certain times of the day (afternoon)
