Key ethical guidelines as set by the apa: Avoid coercion (participation is voluntary, can drop out at any time without any consequences) Participants may not be subjected to harmful conditions (physical or mental) Maintain the confidentiality of the participant (not going to disclose anything) Two main categories of cells in tns. Glia: provides nourishment & oxygen to neurons (10 glia cells for every neuron) Neurons: individual cells in tns that receive, integrate, and transmit information. Contains: soma, dendrites, axon, myelin sheath, & terminal buttons. Neurons are separated by the synaptic cleft. Action potential: a brief electrical charge that travels down an axon. Very selective as to what it allows in.
