How do relationships go from acquaintance to boyfriend vs just a friend. Spending more time together: disclosing more information about yourself. Turning points that cause relationships to become more committed: monogamy and sex. Different type of courtships: accelerated: turned into a relationship really fast accelerated arrested: very fast but right before making the commitment, some relationship problems happen, so have to stop them keep going forward. Ex: i want ten kids vs i want one. Intermediate: not super fast or super slow prolonged: take a long time. Attraction: a motivational state in which an individual is predisposed to think, feel and usually behave in a positive manner toward another person. Reasons for attraction: physical proximity, mere exposure effect- we tend to become more attracted to people we spend more time with. Catherine zeta jones and michael douglass dont look like they match because she is so pretty.
