Class example: the affect that marijuana has on memory: 1. A memory test requires a control test before adding in the variable. Hawthorne effect- hawthorne factory ran an experiment to see if workers would perform better under different lighting conditions. They improved with more light and then again because of less light. The real factor in this experiment was that they knew they were being observed and thus improved their work ethics. We change our behaviors when we know that we are being observed: 2.
