Sorting people into categories: categories are not neutral, not equitable. Labeling people: people follow that, research done on how we think about certain groups in society. Is based on limited knowledge or experience with group. Can be positive or negative: always unfair, not earned by individual judging the group they belong to. Come from stereotypes: assumptions about a group (cid:523)usually one we don"t belong to(cid:524, reduced/simplified characteristics of a group, prejudice when we add values to stereotypes. Portrayed on media: social media, impacts us on many levels. Unavoidable part of our human nature. Individualized feeling: based on distinctive, unique experiences. Conscious choice: act on our feelings and understandings, the more we educate ourselves, the less chance there is to act on our feelings in the wrong ways.
