Was supposed to be the only god to worship at the time. He was basically the sun. to demonstrate loyalty to his god pharaoh changed his name to akenaten. Akhenaten to seize the wealth of the priest of those gods and goddesses. Changing religion allowed homeboy to outlaw other gods and goddesses. So much money priest of that time were so powerful. Hence power of priest was limited and increased the power of pharaoh. Wrote poetry to celebrate his new god. Tutankhaten/tutankhamun 1347-1338 took over after akhenaten after he dies tut most famous cuz his tomb was found relatively intact compared to other pharaohs. As a result most of the treasures remained with he tomb. Relatively young, thus was forced to give up new religion and restore the old gods. Forced to change his name to tutankhamun. Power and wealth of priests is restored as well. Rise of new power in the north.
