Calvary was used to break or enemy lines, chased down enemies who have fled. Calvary meant they were close to king. Big success was from the army alexander inherited from his father. Darois gathers an army of 150,000 soldiers. Darius start marching northwest looking for alexander. Alexander believed the key to victory was darius. He thought i f he killed them persians would support. After darius cowards off, alexander never loses. Darius and alexander bump into each other at isscus. Persians are not able to spread out. They have to fight the macedonians head on.
