Rise of biblical literalism in 19th century taking more claims literally rather than theoretically affected the separation of the spheres of science and religion. Religions being inherently opposed is a roughly new idea. Historically, the 2 things co-existed and people often credentialed in both things (christianity) Appeals to primary causality ends the debate. Appeals to secondary causality provide explanations realm of science and neutral with respect to theolog(cid:455).
