Synapses not stimulated by environment pruned (don"t need them: healthy/necessary makes brain more efficient. Areas of brain continue to myelinate into adulthood. Prefrontal cortex: evolutionarily youngest part of brain: future planning, impulse control, understanding consequence of actions.
