Stream of consciousness- a continuous flow of changing sensation, images, thoughts and feelings. Consciousness- what you are thinking about the world around you. People may see different things than other people. Brain decides what we should take in and what we shouldn"t. Level of awareness- page 128: higher awareness at the top and lower at the bottom. Meaning is when it makes you distracted. Altered states of dugs- used of drugs, trauma, and the way you feel. Feelings that are painful- bullied, the brain hides these feelings. Circadian rhythms- physiological cycles that involve the sleep/wake cycle and temperature. Sleep deprivation- hard to function- might go crazy. Stream of consciousness- continuous flow of changing images. Theory of mind- individuals understanding that they and other"s think and feel. Automatic process- state of consciousness that requires little attention and does not interfere with other activities. Day dreaming- lies between active consciousness and daydreaming while asleep.
