Document Summary

Environmentality: (e2), estimates the extent to which observed individual differences can be traces in any way to individual differences in environments. Heritability, environmentality, and measurement error account for all the differences we see among people on a given characteristic. Greater the herit of a characteristic, the less the environmentality and vice versa. Biggest influence on height is childhood nutrition, protein, calcium, vitamin a and d. Shared environment: aspects of the fam environment that are the same for all the kids in the household, including physical, psychological, and social aspects. Psychological aspects like home atmosphere, parenting practices, etc. Social aspects like ses, fam structure, etc. Nonshared environment: experiences that relatives have which make them different from one another. Include unique experiences within the fam (being oldest, youngest) In terms of personality, most of environmental influence ends up being of the nonshared variety. When fam members resemble each other, its more often due to heredity than shared environment.
