School officials must make daily decisions about discipline and crime prevention. There is a correlation between educational achievement and delinquency. Schools play a significant role in shaping values of today"s juveniles. Schools are also a place where juveniles spend a lot of time with their peers. Economically disadvantaged juveniles enter school lagging behind and this continues in. Students with learning disabilities are much more likely to be disciplined leading to what. The dropout rate in schools has declined significantly however it is still an issue with is known as school to prison pipeline the schools. There has been research about students being "pushed out" because they have been labeled as troublemakers. School failure leads to emotional and psychological problems that are the actual cause of delinquent behavior. Delinquency/violence in schools - significant juvenile crime and victimization occur during the school day (most serious violent crime does occur after school). School can search with only reasonable suspicion.
