In 2015 average of 8 million women, infant and children per month participated. Participants are provided with a variety of benefits: vouchers or electronic benefit transfer cards for foods, nutrition education and counseling, screening and referrals to health and social services, breastfeeding information and support. Pregnant women (through 6 weeks after delivery) Breastfeeding women (up to 1 year after delivery) Nonbreastfeeding postpartum women (up to 6 months after delivery) Participation in wic requires evidence of a nutrition risk (in addition to meeting income guidelines)
