The scientific study individuals think, feel, and bhave in a social context. No one thinks or usually will admit to it, but depending on the circumstances, it is quite possible. Milgram"s study on submission to authority (1976) While scholars and other researchers hypothesized that less than 1% of subjects would continue to shock the patient up to the highest voltage, 66% of subject actually went all the way. Social psychology relies on the scientific method. Social psychology concerns a diverse set of topics. Differs from other social sciences, like economics and political science. Emphasis is on the social mature of individuals. Differs from othe areas of psychology, like personality and developmental. But the socialness of social psychology varies. Does hot weather cause people to be agressive. Other people do not have to be real.
