March 31st, 2016 it wasn"t always the way it is today. All forms of labor that a family performs (paid and unpaid) High value labor dad goes outside the home to work, mom stays home. This separation of tasks, inside and outside the home, wasn"t always the case. In peasant life, men were considered the head of the entire household. They were in charge of decisions on how to educate/rear children and also how to run the home/the farm work. Very euro-centric perspective working for a lord on the field. There were guides to men on how to break your woman to teach her the things that she should do and stay out of your way when it comes to teaching the children. Work and home were one in the same. No separation the way we think of it now. Women have a much lower status in the home.
