When looking into gender stratification and stereotypes, there is much to be learned from the toys they play with. The differences between the toys for boys and the toys for girls are quite drastic. These toys are different in two major ways. Toys for boys encourage more adventure while toys for girls generally promote a simple life. These differences in the toys for different genders begin to reveal how the genders are socialized very differently. Nolan and lenski"s observations of women"s roles in society changing. As i began to examine how these toys are different, it became immediately apparent that the toys for boys usually encourage adventure and excitement. These army man toys encourage boys to live out the adventurous lives of our armed soldiers. Similarly toys such as nerf guns, spy gear, and even remote controlled vehicles are also centralized towards boys and influence them towards more active exciting lives.
