In 1932, beauvoir began a relationship with a student of hers (olga) The marvelous thing about the beaver is that she has the intelligence of a man and sensibility of a woman -jean paul. Marriage doubles one"s domestic responsibilities and, indeed, all one"s social chores -beauvoir. Marriage is a disaster for the woman - beauvoir. Not because it fails to guarantee her happiness-for happiness cannot be guaranteed - but because it mutilates her it dooms her to repetition and routine. Child"s situation = a world that is created by the parents because the parents determine the rules. Regulated by fixed adult values (parents, teachers, etc) Child has no power to shape his/her world. Thus, the child is protected from existential anguish. We are born into the condition of serious world .
